About our Finland tour

Why we chose Finland over other destinations

Since years witnessing northern lights was our dream. We didn’t even have any other destination in our mind. It was crystal clear that we want to visit Finnish Lapland in winter. The Santa claus village, northern lights tour and Ice Breaker cruise was our to-do activities for our tour.

Our Finland tour planning

Karen, My wife and I were researching the Finland tour itineraries with king Crab tours. In the process she landed on a customer review article for finlandtour.fi. The author was from Singapore only and he had a good experience on the Finland tour with the company. Karen shared the article with me and i contacted the company. Our concern was the local existence of the company in Singapore; however, later we understood that it is always better to book with a local Finnish company instead of keeping a mediator in between.

With the help of Päivi, we were able to customize and finalize the itinerary within the next 3 days. We booked the services in June 2023 and traveled in March 2024. My Son really wanted to stay in an Igloo room and we were aware of availability issues. The payment process was smooth and clear.

Our on-the-ground Finland tour experience

We landed in Helsinki on 2nd march 2024 and it was chill. Snow was all around the city. The Aerial view of Helsinki covered with snow welcomed us to the country with open arms. Because of the new visa policies of the Finnish government for Singapore citizens, immigration was very smooth. Actually, there is no visa required if you are a Singapore citizen. Our chauffeur was waiting for us at Airport lobby area with a signboard of ours and the logo of finlandtour.fi. He welcomed us warmly and took us to the car, which was a new BMW S4 and well maintained. We were dropped off at our hotel in Central Helsinki. It was Radisson blu plaza and the stay was cozy. We were tired after the long flight, so we had dinner and slept well to gather energy for the next adventures of our Finland tour from Singapore.

The next day, we had a Porvoo tour from Helsinki planned. We had breakfast in the morning and walked around the hotel. Radisson’s best part is the location. It is the center of the city. Sharp at 10, our car came to pick us up for the Porvoo village tour. It took us an amazing 1-hour Journey to Porvoo, where we met our Beautiful guide Heidi. She was so polite, humble and interactive that my son Evan got fond of her. We spent about 90 minutes with her, in which she took us on a beautiful guided walking tour. After the tour, we had lunch in Porvoo and then our car came to pick us up again.

On Day 3, we checked out from the hotel and flew to Ivalo, Lapland, from Helsinki. It took us 1.5 hours to reach Ivalo from Helsinki and it was damn cool. An Igloo stay in Kakslauttanen arctic resort was arranged for us by Paiivi and team. Evan was so happy to see the room. He got so excited and happy, we felt that we had gotten more than what we had paid for. We were waiting for northern lights from our Igloo, though on the first day we were not able to spot them.

Next day, Day 4 we had a snow mobile Safari tour organised. It was in the same premises and we just loved the experience. That night we were able to spot northern lights from our Igloo. It was fun :).

Day 5, we checked out of the resort and started our Journey for Rovaniemi city. It was 3 hours Scenic Journey to Rovaniemi and it is a must-do. You will see the real Finnish Lapland in the Journey. We reached there around 11 am, kept our bags in the hotel’s cloakroom, and were again picked up for Santa claus village. Evan was so happy to meet Santa; it was mind-blowing to see. In Santa claus amusement park, we had already decided on various activities for Evan, like Husky ride, Snowman man world access and lunch at Santamus restaurant. The whole day was full of fun and tiring. We came back to the hotel and slept after dinner.

Day 6 was the Ice Breaker cruise day. We were taken to Kemi, around 2.5 hours Journey to Rovaniemi. It was the first time in our lives we saw the frozen sea. They board you to cruise, which breaks the frozen ice. At a point you wear the thermal suit and float on the ice. It was altogether a different experience, which we loved. Actually, every day was a fun day. We came back around 7:00 pm and had dinner and slept.

It was our time to leave Finland and fly to London from Rovaniemi on Day 7. As i said, every day was perfect for us, and it was very well planned. We observed that the cost was almost the same or even less than what we were getting when we were planning on our own. After experiencing the service, we realized that it was the right decision to go with them. finlandtour.fi is the best company to book your Finland tour in Singapore, without a doubt. Last but not least, the service was so perfect and professional that we didn’t even have one call with Paivii or any other member of the company. Not even before booking it. Thanks for making it perfect, Team.
