Solo Finland tour from India: Hey, all travel seekers, I am Lavanya, an IT professional working in Bangalore, India. I am writing this article to share my experience of my solo Finland tour from India. In the past 3-4 years, I have undertaken at least five solo international tours, including trips to Kazakhstan, Georgia, Seychelles, Switzerland, and finally Finland.
I would also like to thank Finlandtour.fi and Lestacworld for giving me the platform where I can express my trip experience. I decided to book my solo Finland tour with them after reading about them.
About Finland’s Solo Tour Planning
Well, my plans were to get my Finland tour booked on my own, but there was a huge amount involved in the booking, and I was not in a situation to lose anything because of any silly mistake of mine. Also, after my research and analysis, I figured out that the proposal offered to me was better than what I was getting on my own. And as someone who has visited Finland, I can definitely say that Finland is not the destination to do on your own. When I went to Georgia, it was the local people whom I contacted, and they were following up with me to book with them. For Finland, people are so professional that they won’t even reply back. They will just talk to the point, and you can’t expect them to go out of their limits to make you understand or clear your doubts. You will have to go through a channel to make it smooth.
So, after realizing all this, i decided to search for a good Finland itinerary through a good travel company. My main motive was to witness the northern lights and i was very clear that i dont want to spend more than INR 700,000 for this trip. I started exploring the internet to get help and landed on one of the customer review articles for the Finland tour f`rom India. The author in that article mentioned their good experience of travelling to Finland with Lestacworld.com. That was the moment i got connected with the company.
My Experience of Finland tour
Well, in India i was connected with Ridhima from Lestacworld. She was quite knowledgeable about the destination, polite and patient. She helped me with answers to every silly question of mine. The proposed itinerary was the result of our long discussions, where she patiently understood my requirements and offered accordingly.
When i was in Finland, Denny was my point of contact. Denny from Finlantour.fi was responsive and understanding. He helped me at every moment i wanted. I felt like they were giving extra care, maybe because i was a Solo traveller. I felt so much warmth from these people and i am completely satisfied. My tour went amazingly, and i was able to witness the northern lights comfortably.

Some frequently asked questions
As per my experience, Finland is the safest place for Solo female traveler, without a doubt. I did a solo tour of 7 nights and nowhere did i felt unsafe at any point in time.
I had meals in normal Indian as well as European restaurants in Helsinki and Rovaniemi. Expect per meal to cost you around 20-25 Euros per person.
It depends on the individual case; for me, it was not difficult at all. I filed for a visa on my own and got it in 10 days. I have heard recently that they become more lenient in order to get more tourists.
I went to Finland in Feb 2024, and i witnessed the northern lights. December till march is considered to be the best time to visit Lapland for Northern lights happening. However, i realised December till the end of February is very much cold. March is still better comparatively.
