Hey everyone, I am Ian Sapo and today I am writing about my experience of the Finland tour from Singapore. We visited Finland in the month of November 2024. In the image, you can see me in a white jacket raising hands along with my family.

So, as you can see in the image, we had a family Finland tour from Singapore. We started planning for it at the last moment, around 15 days before our travel. We were looking for travel companies in Singapore to plan our holidays. While on our research, I discussed with one of my friends who had already been to Finland last year in 2023. She had booked the tour directly with Finlandtour.fi and her experience was satisfactory. I had a long discussion with her about her tour and asked about almost all aspects of it.

After the discussion, I was convinced that booking it directly with the local Finnish company has more benefits than looking for a company in Singapore to arrange a Finnish tour for us. My friend Pamela directly gave me the WhatsApp contact number of Ms. Tamara, who assisted them. That was the moment, I pinged Tamara and our conversation started.

How did we get the perfect itinerary of Finland?

Our priorities for the tour were clear. Witnessing the Northern Lights and activities that our kids would enjoy. I mentioned our requirements to Tamara and asked for the quote accordingly. One thing I liked about Finlandtour.fi was their professionalism. Tamara insisted I keep the conversation through email instead of WhatsApp to keep everything documented.

Within 4 hours, Tamara was able to reply to me with the quote. My daughter wanted to do carb hunt Safari; however, Tamara explained to me that Finnish cabs are not allowed to get inside Norway and vice versa. This meant that if we want to do a crab hunt safari in Kirkenes, we will have to travel from Ivalo to the Norway border in a Finnish cab and then shift to a Norwegian cab to reach the Kirkenes hotel. She explained and left the choice on us. This is the time we realized that a local Finnish agency can help us with even minute facts, which a travel agency in Singapore would not know.

Ian’s Finland tour Itinerary

To be honest, it was an unforgettable, unthinkable, and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nope, I am not exaggerating—it is what it is. As a Chinese Singaporean, what we experienced in Finnish Lapland was completely different from anything we had ever experienced in our lives.
When we were landing at Ivalo Airport, we witnessed a blanket of snow, and it was mind-boggling. The completely different vibe of life. This was just the start of our Finland tour from Singapore but we realised that we have already acheived what we were looking for. The driver who picked us up gave us a heartwarming welcome. Yes, we chose to experience Kirkenes Crab Safari, even though we had to switch cabs in between. Trust me, it was an amazing experience. We reached the Kirkenes hotel around 15:00 and were picked up for the Kirkenes Crab Safari Tour around 17:00. We started the tour on a snowmobile that took us to the location where crabs could be hunted. They taught us the tricks of crab hunting and gave us the opportunity to take pictures with the hunted crabs.

After this amazing experience, we went to the Snowhotel Kirkenes to learn how to cook the crabs. We cooked them, ate them, and were completely satisfied with everything we had experienced on the first day of our tour.

The next day was even more exciting than the first. We were transferred to Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, and what an amazing experience it was! The property spans acres and features its own planetarium, snowmobile track, log cabins, igloo cabins, and much more. We checked in to our Kelo Igloo stay which is by far the highest category of igloos in the resort. We spent two amazing nights here and my kids were very happy here. They have their own Santa village, which is good especially for kids. The whole family enjoyed a 2-hour snowman safari in the resort booked by finlandtour.fi for us.

The third day in the morning we were picked by finlandtour.fi’s driver for transfer to Rovaniemi, which is around 3 hours journey. I must say, it was a spacious and comfortable Mercedes Sprinter, which made our journey smooth and relaxing.
We reached the Rovaniemi hotel around 9:00 am. We kept our bags in the hotel cloak room and were picked up for Santa Claus Village by around 10:00 am. At Santa Claus Village, we met Santa, took some memorable photos with him, entered the Snowman World premises, and enjoyed a 500-meter husky sled ride. It was an amazing day for our kids!

The next day, it was the turn of the Kemi Icebreaker cruise. This was an Arktis icebreaker cruise operated by the Experience 365 company. We were picked up by a shuttle from in front of the Scandic Pohjanhovi hotel. This experience you can only enjoy in Finland or Russia and I think doing it from the Finnish side was good for us :). Here are some Arktis Icebreaker cruise images:

On Day 6, we started our Ranua Zoo adventure in the morning. There we saw the arctic polar bear.
If you didn’t know, polar bears are only found in Svalbard, and there is only one Arctic polar bear in Finland, which is kept at Ranua Zoo. We spent our good 4 hours in the Zoo and returned back to Rovaniemi City for our own exploration. In the night, finlandtour.fi made us do the Northern Lights hunt tour by bus, where we witnessed the first northern lights of our lives. We got the goozbumps and those were real.

Our family’s trip to Finnish Lapland with Finlandtour.fi was nothing short of magical. Every aspect of the journey was seamlessly planned, making our experience stress-free and truly special. From breathtaking Arctic landscapes to thrilling winter activities, everything was beyond our expectations.

The attention to detail was impressive—accommodations were top-notch, transfers were smooth, and the activities were thoughtfully curated for both us and kids. The joy on our children’s faces throughout the trip made it all the more memorable. Meeting Santa, chasing the Northern Lights, and experiencing the beauty of Lapland’s snowy wilderness felt like stepping into a fairytale.

What truly stood out was the professionalism and warmth of the team at Finlandtour.fi. They ensured we were comfortable and well-informed at every step, making the entire trip effortless and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a Finnish company that combines such efficiency with a personal touch.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better travel partner. If you’re planning a trip to Finland, Finlandtour.fi is the way to go. Highly recommended!
